Romeo and Juliet Cornell Box

I was tasked to read Romeo and Juliet and take it in whatever direction I wanted. Once I decided the concept for my story, I had to create a Cornell Box, or an emotion box, in order to capture the feelings and look I would want for an actual stage production. Here is my written concept for my box:

  • As night turns into day, so do the shadows turn to light. For the shadows and light rays only get to touch within those few moments, otherwise, they never meet. Until one evening at dusk everything changed. A ray of light named Juliet lingered just a little longer than the rest of her family and wove herself into a beam of shadow named Romeo. She warmed his cool skin as they held on for as long as they could until the rays began to pull on Juliet and the shadows Romeo. They repeated this every dusk for as long as they could until they embraced a little longer than normal. Juliet's light reached every crevice that the shadows couldn't reach causing the world to be filled with little galaxies of light. Romeo's darkness casted the most beautiful silhouettes upon the ground that any ray of light or beam of shadow had ever seen. Their love created something too powerful to ever been seen again. The shadows and rays did everything they could to keep the two lovers apart, but Romeo and Juliet would not let that happen. The rays and the shadows pulled at the lovers until one day they interlocked  and became one. They caused an explosion of light and shadow. Everything went still and a ray of light and beam of shadow were left permanently etched into the ground where they never had to part each other's touch.
